Portaventura is a family favourite in our house, with my adrenaline seeking kids (and husband). We visit this theme park every chance we get, which is normally once or twice a year! This theme park is where myself and my husband fell in love with Salou after our honeymoon there. We knew from the minute we entered the gates that we wanted our kids to grow up knowing and loving Portaventura as much as we do.
A World of Adventure
PortAventura is divided into six themed areas, each offering a unique experience with themed rides, shows and facilities.
Mediterrània: Start your adventure with a stroll through this charming Mediterranean village. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride or hop on the thrilling Furious Baco roller coaster for an adrenaline rush. This village is at the entrance to Portaventura and often bustling with people, it offers a range of cafés, rides, stores and beautiful scenery over the lake.
Polynesia: Immerse yourself in the lush, tropical landscapes of Polynesia. Experience the exciting Tutuki Splash water ride and be sure to catch the captivating Aloha Tahiti show.
Sesame Street Adventure: Perfect for the little ones, this area brings the beloved Sesame Street characters to life. Kids can enjoy gentle rides like Elmo’s Farm and meet their favorite characters. This area holds one of my son’s favourite rides- Street mission. We spend a lot of time getting on and off this ride just to see my 6 year olds face light up time and time again.
China: Home to the famous Dragon Khan roller coaster, this area boasts some of the park’s most thrilling rides. For a calmer experience, explore the Great Wall or enjoy the vibrant Chinese architecture.
Mexico: Step into ancient Mexico with its rich history and exciting attractions. Don’t miss the amazing shows or the Hurakan Condor drop tower for a heart-pounding experience.
Far West: Relive the wild west with cowboy-themed rides and attractions. Try your luck at the Gold River or cool off with the Grand Canyon Rapids.
Shows and entertainment

Dance to the Rhythm: Aloha Tahiti, set in the lush Polynesian-themed area, is a mesmerizing performance featuring traditional Polynesian music and dance. It’s a perfect blend of energy, rhythm, and visual spectacle.
Magic and Illusion: WeDance Live! is an enchanting show that takes place in the China-themed area. This performance combines modern dance, acrobatics, and stunning visual effects to create a breathtaking experience.
Wild West Extravaganza: Transport yourself to the Wild West with Bang Bang West, an action-packed show filled with stunts, comedy, and western-themed antics. Set in the Far West area, this show features cowboys, saloon girls, and plenty of wild action. It’s an entertaining spectacle that’s perfect for the whole family.
Fun for the Little Ones: Sesame Street On Tour is located in the Sesame Street Adventure area, this delightful show features all your favorite Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster. The interactive performance is designed specifically for young children, combining singing, dancing, and plenty of opportunities for audience participation.
